Leather splitters are tools used to uniformly remove a thickness of leather material. It can be used to split leather evenly, or split it by a preferred and set thickness. They are comprised of strong, metal blades generally 6” – 8” wide.
Once the thickness of the cut has been set (via an adjustment mechanism), the leather is placed into the splitter, secured by lowering a level, then pulled through. It is split as it is pulled through. This produces clean, and consistent results very quickly.
