Leather hardware and fasteners are used to join pieces of leather together. The types of joining can be temporary, or more permanent depending on the hardware used.
Fasteners can be made of many different types of material. Mostly they are steel, brass, nickel, and copper. Commonly you’ll see rivets, snaps, and grommets. Each has its own main purpose, while they also have variations in aesthetic and cantonal appeal.
Application of fasteners can be done manually with just a few general tools, manually with specialized tools, or mechanically using setting and pressing machines.
