Leather Circle Cutter

When leatherworkers make coasters, they often range in shape from squares to circles. Some leatherworkers may have the luxury of having a press and some dies to cut out these shapes, but for the starter, a leather circle cutter may be a cost-effective way to get started in making some coasters. A leather circle cutter has a blade attached to an arm with an adjustable radius that allows the crafter to spin it around, cutting out circles of the exact same diameter every time. These can be tooled or finished to become simple circular coasters.

I have actually purchased one of these, but have yet to use it. I typically go to Springfield Leather Co. and purchase the 3.5" rounders pre-cut.

Interesting! I find it to be useful for when I have a side of leather laying around since it creates a perfect circle cut!
